Recently renovated, the Village Hotel in Farnborough invested into a By The Glass system with their wine supplier. The system houses 8-bottles, and allows customers to choose from a broader range of fine wines to accompany many of the fantastic new dishes on offer since the refurbishment.
The hotel is perfect for both people visiting for business and leisure, and as such has enough facilities to keep everyone entertained throughout their stay. The refurbishment of the restaurant, which includes a state-of-the-art grill for steaks and a wide range of local ales, means that everyone will have an enjoyable stay at the hotel.
The De Vere Village Urban Resort was one of the first of the Village hotels to be rebranded and refurbished following Robert Cooks appointment as CEO.
The decision was taken to change the restaurant in the hotel, and move it away from a bistro, and create more of an entertaining space to dine. The concept is to bring the kitchen theatre to the centre of the restaurant, by having a large grill in front of the customers. Behind this the chef can prepare meals and show exactly what happens in preparing customers’ meals.
This is coupled with an 8-bottle By The Glass system, allowing 4 reds and 4 whites to be served at any time. The system is filled with wines which match brilliantly with the food on offer, and allows the staff the opportunity to upsell and recommend pairings which customers really like.
Upstairs, there is Upper Deck, a special room type designed to suit the busy business traveller who wants the comforts of home when the laptop is shutdown. Each room has ample work space, as well as a full Sky Sports and film package. All this goes to help create a home away from home for the business traveller. As this concept is rolled out around the country, it will bring a familiarity that guests can expect when they book into any Urban Village Resort.
