We’ve had some exciting news about one of our installations. Robert Giorgione (www.robertgiorgione.com) one of the foremost sommeliers in the UK, will be hosting a series of tastings at Vagabond Wines (www.vagabondwines.co.uk) over the coming months, showcasing a number of interesting wines and all based around different themes.
We first met Robert through Ronan Sayburn MS, where he filmed the below video about Ronan’s new website (www.ronansayburn.com), the Court of Master Sommeliers (http://www.courtofmastersommeliers.org/) , and more about the exciting concept at Vagabond Wines.
Vagabond is a new concept in wine retailing, with 100 wines to try-before-you-buy all displayed in our state-of-the-art By The Glass Wine Preservation and Tasting Systems. The store is set out in a very unique way, and the fact that you can help yourself to wines, and taste the ones you want, lead to a relaxed retail experience.
The wines themselves are grouped by style, as opposed to grape variety or country, and this allows customers to focus on wine types they like and which are similar, albeit not from the same country. Vagabond’s tasting note cards also means that when you find a wine you like, you can take away a reminder as to what it is, something which is proving extremely popular with customers.
The tastings will all focus on either different wine regions or themes (the next one will be on Wednesday March 2nd at 7.00pm. The theme will be Sancerre v Marlborough featuring the wines of Domaine Henri Bourgeois and Clos Henri. To book at place at the tasting, call Stephen, Colin, or Peter on 0207 381 1717 or email: email@example.com
This will be the second tasting that Robert has held here, the first being a chocolate and wine tasting featuring Raffaella Baruzzo’s exquisite chocolates (http://www.baruzzo.co.uk/). We will be blogging and tweeting a lot about the upcoming events, as I am sure Vagabond and Robert will be doing, so keep your eyes out for the latest tasting event and head on down there, you’re sure to have a great evening!
